# Partners

A partner organization runs GEKI for others. It creates child organizations, one for each customer, subsidiary, or team. A child is a full organization with its own people, bots, groups, and Chat address. The partner manages all of them from one place. An IT service provider that sets GEKI up for its customers is a partner.

There is one level. A partner has children. A child has no children of its own.

## Create a child organization

Owners and Admins of a partner open Organizations in the [Console](/console) and choose New organization. Or use "+ New organization" in the organization switcher at the top of the sidebar. Enter:

- **Name.** The name of the new organization.
- **Admin email.** Optional. This person gets an invitation and becomes Admin of the new organization.

The new organization opens at Bots. A partner can create a limited number of children, three by default. At the limit the form says "Limit reached" and asks you to contact GEKI to raise it.

## Who has access

- Owners and Admins of the partner are Admins of every child. The Members page of the child hides them and says "Managed by" the partner. You cannot change or remove them there.
- Other members of the partner are not added to a child.
- The child has its own Admins, Builders, Members, and Viewers. Its Admins invite people and appoint other Admins. The highest role in a child is Admin.
- People who belong only to the child see only the child. They cannot open the partner.

Groups and bot access are per organization. A child does not see the groups of its partner.

## Manage the children

The Organizations page lists every child with its bots, its Chat addresses, and the Slack or Teams apps it has connected. Search by name, filter by status, and export the list as CSV.

Each row has a menu:

- **Open.** Go to the child.
- **Settings.** Open the Settings of the child.
- **Deactivate or Reactivate.** Deactivate stops all API keys and sessions of the child at once and pauses all its bots. Reactivate restores them.

## What the partner sets for a child

Partner Owners and Admins open the Settings of a child to set its display name, its brand colour, and its Chat address. The partner can change the Chat address of a child. A change stops the old address, with no redirect. The child cannot set it itself.

A child inherits these from the partner:

- **Models.** The model settings of the partner. The child can set its own values. See [Models](/models).
- **Publisher.** The name and links shown in the description of the Slack and Teams apps. A child can set its own.
- **Bot categories.** The list the partner defines. A child reads it and cannot add its own. See [Company Bots](/bots).
- **Chat colour.** A child uses the colour of the partner or its own.

Under Settings, the partner can also turn on Branded Console. The top bar of the partner and of all children then shows the brand colour and the name of the partner.

Connectors, bots, skills, vaults, and Knowledge Bases belong to each organization. A partner creates them in the child, like in its own organization. The Slack app or Teams app of a customer lives in the customer's workspace or tenant. Switch into the child, then follow [Connect Slack](/guides/connect-slack) or [Connect Microsoft](/guides/connect-microsoft).

## Switch between organizations

The switcher at the top of the sidebar lists the partner and its children, with search. Choose an entry to open it. The Console keeps you on the same page, so Bots stays Bots. If you belong to more than one organization, the user menu also has Switch organization.

Chat has no switcher. Each organization has its own Chat address. See [Chat](/chat).
